Al-Yousef: We have officially requested to host the 'AFC Futsal Cup'

Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef, President of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Football Association, announced that Kuwait has formally submitted a bid to host the 2028 AFC Futsal Asian Cup, which will also serve as the qualification tournament for the 2028 FIFA World Cup, to be held from January 25 to February 6, 2028. He noted that Kuwait has prior experience in hosting the tournament, having successfully organized the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup. The President of the Association further clarified that a delegation from the Asian Football Confederation will visit Kuwait at the end of September to inspect the sports facilities that will host the event’s activities. Al-Yousef emphasized that Kuwaiti youth are capable of organizing major events and matches, citing their outstanding organization of the French Super Cup and the Gulf Cup as recent examples.
