Allegri: We feel bitter

Italian coach Massimo Allegri expressed his sadness after his team suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to English side Arsenal at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. The loss marked another setback for Allegri, as his side endured a third consecutive defeat across all competitions, following league losses to Como and Inter. The injuries to key starters Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay and Cameroonian defender André-Frank Zambo Anguissa further complicated Allegri’s task, as he aims to secure three points in the next league match, scheduled for the day after tomorrow. Allegri said, “To get back on the right track, we need a strong win against Bologna, and that won’t be easy. There is certainly a sense of bitterness and disappointment, as we come off three defeats.” He added, “I liked the technical performance, but we lacked physical energy in the second half, with (Scottish) Billy Gilmour and (Belgian) Kevin De Bruyne playing their first matches.” He continued, “We must remain calm and composed. If we defend in certain periods of the game as we did in the second half tonight, we might not have lost to Como and Inter.”
