Al-Jumhouria: Linking Students to Global Technological Experiences
The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) announced that a delegation of outstanding students from its College of Technological Studies would visit China to observe the experiences of several Chinese universities and educational institutions in the cities of Shenzhen and Shanghai, as well as leading companies and factories in the fields of technology, industry, and innovation.
Dr. Hassan Al-Fajam, Director of the Authority, stated in a press statement that the delegation, comprising 10 students, departed for China on Thursday evening. He described the visit as the fruit of cooperation between PAAET and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Kuwait, reflecting the Authority’s commitment to broadening students’ horizons and linking applied education and training with advanced global practices and experiences.
Al-Fajam added that cooperation with the Chinese Embassy exemplifies the international partnerships PAAET seeks to establish, aiming to make students the primary beneficiaries of such collaborations. The visit will further enhance students’ access to international expertise and provide them with the opportunity to closely observe the latest technological and industrial applications.
He clarified that the visit program includes field tours at several major technological and industrial companies, including Huawei, Robotic, and BYD. This will enable students to transition from theoretical knowledge in classrooms to observing practical applications in advanced industrial and technological environments, and to learn about the latest technologies in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, robotics, automation, smart manufacturing, electric vehicles, energy, and modern technologies.
Al-Fajam noted that this will help students connect their academic studies with real-world applications in the industry and technology sectors. “We want PAAET students not to limit themselves to what they learn in the classroom, but to see the world, explore pioneering experiences, and return to Kuwait with new ideas and aspirations,” he said.
For his part, Liu Xiang, Advisor to the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait, emphasized the importance of educational and technological cooperation in strengthening relations between the two friendly countries. He pointed out that investing in youth and building bridges of communication between educational and industrial institutions constitute one of the most important paths for sustainable cooperation.
Liu Xiang stated that providing PAAET students with the opportunity to closely observe the Chinese experience, particularly in universities, companies, and factories, would offer them a comprehensive picture of China’s progress in technology, innovation, and industry. He expressed hope that the visit would help build new bridges of knowledge and understanding between the youth of both countries and mark the beginning of further exchange and cooperation programs between educational and technological institutions in China and Kuwait.
The Authority noted that the visit combines academic, industrial, and technological aspects, allowing students to gain a comprehensive view of the innovation ecosystem, from education, training, research, and development to manufacturing, and transforming ideas into products and technologies that compete in global markets.
It added: “The visit to Huawei allows students to learn about technology, telecommunications, and digital transformation environments, while the visit to BYD provides an opportunity to observe developments in the electric vehicle and energy technology sectors. Additionally, the visit to Robotic offers insights into robotics, automation, and modern manufacturing applications.”
The Authority explained that this initiative aligns with its direction to strengthen international partnerships and convert international relations and agreements into tangible educational and training opportunities that directly benefit students. This contributes to developing their scientific and professional skills, enhancing their culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, and equipping them with a deeper understanding of the transformations occurring in the global labor market.
