Ministry of Education: 1,071 students take the "Talent Tests"

The Ministry of Education has launched the screening tests for gifted students for the 2026/2027 academic year, with the participation of 1,071 middle school students. This initiative is part of the Ministry’s preparations to open gifted schools and enhance its efforts to identify, nurture, and develop students with exceptional abilities and talents.

Dr. Suad Al-Rabia, Acting Head of the Measurement and Evaluation Department at the Gifted Students Office, confirmed that the screening tests began on September 6 and will continue until September 13. She noted that deferred tests have been scheduled for students who were unable to attend during the specified period.

Al-Rabia explained that registered students from grades six to eight take the tests through the “Mawhoob” system. A specialized committee, comprising a select group of experts in the field of giftedness, has been formed to identify gifted students.

She emphasized that the tests are part of the Ministry of Education’s efforts to identify gifted students, assess their capabilities, and provide an appropriate educational environment that supports their talents, refines their skills, and develops their abilities, in line with the Ministry’s direction toward nurturing giftedness and creativity.

She underscored the importance of these efforts in supporting outstanding students and preparing educational pathways that align with their capabilities and potential, wishing all students success and expressing hope that the 2026/2027 academic year will be filled with excellence and achievement.
