Manipulation of Waqf Fingerprints... to the Public Prosecution

Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Osaimi, issued a ministerial decision regarding incidents of tampering with fingerprint systems used to record attendance and departure, following the conclusion of investigations conducted by the ministry. The investigations led to the dismissal of an administrative supervisor and several male and female employees whose involvement was established, and they were referred to the Public Prosecution. Additionally, necessary legal measures were taken to recover all amounts paid to them without justification.

Dr. Al-Osaimi affirmed that the ministry is proceeding resolutely to protect public funds and safeguard the integrity of public service, and that it will not hesitate or show leniency in holding accountable anyone proven to be involved in undermining the ministry’s systems or misappropriating public funds, regardless of their status or official position. This will be pursued through administrative investigations or by referring cases to the Public Prosecution.

He clarified that other facts and suspicions uncovered during the investigation have also been referred to the Public Prosecution, emphasizing that accountability will not be limited to the primary offender but will extend to anyone proven to have participated in, contributed to, or facilitated the violation, as determined by the investigations.

Dr. Al-Osaimi stressed that public funds are a trust and that the law will be applied to all without exception; neither official position nor rank will serve as a barrier to accountability. He further noted that the ministry will continue to plug loopholes, strengthen oversight, and develop attendance and departure systems to prevent the recurrence of such incidents, thereby preserving state funds, upholding the dignity of public service, and ensuring the regular and efficient functioning of work.
