Kuwait: Our Security and Saudi Arabia Are One
Condemnations continued yesterday regarding the attacks launched by the terrorist Houthi militia using missiles and drones on cities and civilian and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia, which resulted in the injury of dozens of civilians, including women and children. The Kingdom affirmed that the Houthis had opened a door upon themselves that they cannot bear.
Kuwait expressed its strong condemnation and rejection of the Houthi militia’s attacks, which targeted civilian and economic assets in several cities of the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, resulting in the injury of dozens of civilians, including women and children. This constitutes a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a direct threat to the security and safety of its citizens and residents, as well as a breach of international law and international humanitarian law, and a serious and unjustified escalation that could undermine regional security and stability.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified in a statement Kuwait’s condemnation of the Houthi militia’s continued targeting of commercial ships in the Red Sea, which poses a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation, global energy supplies, and international trade. It reaffirmed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its steadfast support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, preserve its security and stability, protect its interests, and ensure the safety of its people and residents. It stressed that the security of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed that the Kingdom would not hesitate to defend itself against any attacks, emphasizing that it would use all available means to protect its interests, while keeping the door open for diplomatic solutions to deal with the Houthi group. Prince Faisal bin Farhan stated that Saudi Arabia would not hesitate to support actions that serve the interests of Yemen and the region, reiterating that the Kingdom would use all available means to protect its interests and defend itself against attacks.
Speaking on the Houthi escalation, the Saudi Foreign Minister said that the Houthis had opened a door upon themselves that they cannot bear, noting that the group is attempting to export its internal problems in Yemen to Saudi Arabia.
For his part, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesperson for the Coalition Support Forces in Yemen, stated that the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition would take all necessary operational measures to deter this terrorist militia and confront its hostile approach with firmness, in defense of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, preservation of its national resources, and protection of its citizens and residents. He added that the Coalition would take all necessary precautions and measures to respond to sources of threat and neutralize their danger.
