Al-Jalahma: Approval of partnership with the private sector to invest in Gulf youth

State Minister for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states in the youth and sports sectors, in order to contribute to the development of youth capabilities and strengthen their participation in the development process. This was stated in a statement by Minister Al-Jalahma to KUNA news agency yesterday, on the sidelines of his participation in the 39th meeting of the GCC Ministers of Youth and Sports, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the chairmanship of Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, with the participation of GCC Secretary-General Jassem Al-Bedaiwi.

Minister Al-Jalahma expressed his gratitude to the brothers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, including its leadership, government, and people, for their generous hospitality and warm welcome, and prayed to God Almighty that the path of excellence and success continues in the GCC member states.

He clarified that the meeting witnessed the adoption of the Action Plan of the GCC Ministers of Youth and Sports Committee for the period 2025–2030, along with the youth activities and programs scheduled to be implemented in the coming years. He added that a partnership with the private sector was approved to invest in the youth sector, thereby enhancing the skills and capabilities of young people across the GCC member states.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Minister Al-Jalahma honored several young individuals. The honors included the Al-Farsi team for paper airplanes in the Community Initiatives category, while Yusuf Al-Husseini and Zaina Al-Muwaini were honored in the Outstanding Youth category, in recognition of their contributions and excellence in the youth sector.
