Kuwait Stock Exchange: Investors Raise the Flag of Caution

In the Kuwaiti stock market, the geopolitical landscape translated into limited selling pressure, as the Kuwait Stock Exchange closed its Thursday session with its general index down by 18.72 points, or 0.21%, to reach 8,847.93 points. The session saw the trading of 421.12 million shares across 30,316 cash transactions valued at 97.2 million dinars. The main market index fell by 22.80 points, equivalent to 0.25%, to 9,134.78 points, amid trades totaling 321.5 million shares worth 58.7 million dinars. Meanwhile, the First Market index declined by 18.83 points, or 0.20%, to 9,246.08 points, through the trading of 99.6 million shares valued at 38.5 million dinars. In contrast, the “Main 50” index bucked the general trend, rising by 35.57 points, or 0.32%, to 11,000.85 points. These figures reveal that investors have not exited the market but have become more selective and cautious amid rising regional uncertainty. The increase in trading volume to approximately 97.2 million dinars, alongside the decline in the general index, reflects continued activity coupled with a rebalancing of investment positions, a typical behavior in markets when geopolitical risks escalate.
