Ministry of Education: Update of the educational calendar for the next four academic years

Confirming the report published by Al-Nahar on June 1 under the headline “Return of Final Exams for Primary School,” Minister of Education Eng. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabatabai has approved a decision to update the educational calendar for the academic years 2026/2027, 2027/2028, 2028/2029, and 2029/2030. This update aligns with new regulatory developments in the education system and aims to enhance clarity regarding academic and examination schedules for students, parents, school administrations, and teaching staff.

The updates include adding examination dates for the fourth and fifth grades of primary school to the educational calendar, in accordance with the newly approved comprehensive regulatory framework for education. This measure contributes to standardizing and organizing procedures related to assessment and examinations.

The decision applies to general education schools, religious education schools, adult education and literacy programs, special education schools, and private Arabic schools, according to the schedules and dates specified in the attachments to the ministerial decision.

The Ministry of Education emphasized that the calendar update is part of ongoing efforts to develop and organize academic schedules in line with amendments to educational regulations and systems. It provides a clearer timeframe for upcoming academic years, supporting advance planning and early preparation for various educational and examination commitments.

The ministry clarified that the amendments also aim to enhance the smoothness and stability of the educational process by aligning academic schedules with new regulatory requirements, and by providing clear visibility for all stakeholders in the educational process regarding study and examination dates.

The decision takes effect from the date of its issuance. Competent authorities are tasked with disseminating and implementing it, and all previous decisions conflicting with it are hereby repealed.

The ministry has called on administrations and relevant bodies in the educational field to comply with the decision and its attachments, and to apply the approved schedules and dates, ensuring the proper functioning of the educational process and achieving the desired regulatory objectives.
