Allowing «Those Whose Nationality Has Been Revoked» According to the 1965 Census to Dispose of Their Shares

The Capital Markets Authority issued a circular regarding the exercise of the right to trade, buy, and sell shares, sukuk, and securities by individuals whose Kuwaiti nationality has been revoked from the “1965 Census” category, as part of efforts to regulate the status of this group and ensure the continuity of their entitled rights and benefits. The Authority emphasized in the circular that all licensed persons, entities, and individuals must comply with the regulations governing the status of those whose nationality has been revoked from the 1965 Census category, as well as those who acquired Kuwaiti nationality through dependency. It clarified that individuals whose nationality was revoked under Article Five of the 1965 Census category, along with those who acquired nationality through dependency, are permitted to continue exercising the right to trade, buy, and sell shares, sukuk, and securities on the securities exchange or securities market. The Authority reaffirmed the continued implementation of the verification and authentication mechanism for personal data and information submitted by this group, through original identity documents or certificates issued by the Central Agency for Addressing the Status of Illegal Residents, or the civil ID issued via the “Huwiyati” application, provided they are valid and electronically verified, in a manner consistent with applicable decisions and instructions.
