Documenting the "National Epic" for Future Generations

The Ministry of Education has documented in the new tenth-grade curriculum the national epic that was embodied by unity, solidarity, and popular rallying around the wise leadership during the reprehensible Iranian aggression against Kuwait, as well as the feats of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces in repelling hostile Iranian attacks. The book clarified that Kuwait experienced a reprehensible aggression by Iran and its militias in the region, involving missiles and drones, which targeted vital and government facilities and residential areas, including electricity generation and water desalination plants, Kuwait International Airport, the Social Security Affairs Institution building, and the Ministries Complex. It pointed out that these attacks constituted a violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and security, necessitating the raising of the readiness of state institutions while reaffirming Kuwait’s right to defend its territory, alongside its continued diplomatic efforts to maintain regional security and stability. The text highlighted the leadership role of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in directing state institutions and enhancing their readiness. The new curriculum also emphasized that Kuwait is not a party to the conflict between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other. It addressed Kuwait’s position, which calls for respecting the sovereignty of states and adhering to international law, and for not allowing its territory, airspace, or waters to be used to attack any country. It affirmed that the crisis demonstrated the importance of national unity, the cohesion of the leadership and the people, and the readiness of state institutions, alongside the continuation of Kuwait’s approach calling for dialogue, de-escalation, and respect for international law.
