In line with its humanitarian mission and commitment to community empowerment, Loyaq Foundation launched an initiative to distribute food aid to needy families in Kuwait, under the patronage of Mizan Holding, which supported the initiative as part of its corporate social responsibility. This step embodies the values of solidarity and strengthens cooperation between non-profit institutions and the private sector in serving the community. The initiative involved distributing 200 food baskets to 200 needy families, directly benefiting more than 1,100 individuals indirectly through family members. The initiative covered 31 areas across Kuwait, reflecting Loyaq’s dedication to reaching the largest possible number of beneficiaries. The implementation of the initiative involved a team of 26 Loyaq volunteers, including 4 supervisors and 22 volunteers, along with 7 Mizan Holding employees (2 administrative staff and 5 operational staff), who contributed to distribution and organization, underscoring that corporate social responsibility is not merely a slogan but a practical reality on the ground.
Community Partnership
Lulwah Al-Sharrah, a Community Empowerment Specialist at Loyaq, stated: “This initiative reflects our deep belief in the importance of joint efforts between the private sector and non-profit institutions to serve the community. Mizan Holding’s participation in distributing food baskets is not just financial support; it is a humanitarian message affirming that giving is a collective responsibility and that youth are the cornerstone in spreading values of compassion and solidarity. At Loyaq, we believe that such initiatives sow hope and build bridges of trust among community members.”
Al-Sharrah concluded her statement by emphasizing that this initiative is part of a broader package of programs and initiatives provided by Loyaq to needy families, children, and orphans, within the framework of community empowerment programs aimed at enhancing social justice and supporting the most vulnerable groups.
For her part, Malihah Al-Wazan, representative of Mizan Holding, clarified: “At Mizan Holding, we believe that our social responsibility extends beyond our business scope to include our role as an effective partner in supporting the community and contributing to positive, sustainable impact. We are proud of our collaboration with Loyaq Foundation in this initiative, which highlights the importance of integrating efforts between the private sector and civil society organizations to reach the most needy groups. We also take pride in the participation of our employees alongside Loyaq volunteers in implementing the initiative, embodying the culture of giving and community participation that we strive to promote at Mizan.”
A Unique Experience
Volunteer Rahaf Hamadi explained that her participation in the food distribution program was a moving experience for her, saying: “Through this experience, I realized the importance of helping others, and that the simplest things we offer can mean a lot to someone else. What I liked most was meeting and connecting with new people; that in itself was a distinctive experience. When I saw the joy and gratitude on the beneficiaries’ faces, I felt that the time and effort I invested had real meaning. This experience made me appreciate the blessings I have even more, and changed my perspective on volunteering into an opportunity to make a difference in others’ lives, even if slightly. I feel proud and happy to be part of this initiative, and I look forward to participating in more volunteer experiences in the future.”
For his part, volunteer Salman Adel expressed his experience, saying: “My participation with Loyaq was one of the distinctive experiences for me. At first, I was enthusiastic but unsure of what I would face. As the program began, I discovered that we were not just distributing food baskets; we were contributing to people’s happiness and supporting them. What affected me most was witnessing firsthand how a simple act of help can make a significant difference in the life of a needy person.”
I felt happy and fulfilled every time I participated, and I realized that the effort invested has value and impact. Through this experience, I learned many important lessons, including teamwork, accountability, gratitude for blessings, and understanding others’ needs. It was a wonderful experience that left me with beautiful memories, and I hope to take part in all future volunteer programs. I recommend that everyone embark on this humanitarian journey.
