The Security and Safety Administration at Kuwait University has raised its readiness levels in preparation for the launch of the 2026/2027 academic year, through a comprehensive plan to enhance security and safety at the Sabah Al-Salem University City, and to provide a safe and organized educational environment coinciding with the welcome of students and the return of university staff.
Yousef Al-Thamir, Director of the University’s Security and Safety Administration, confirmed that the administration has completed its preparations for the new academic year, noting that the plan enjoys the support and follow-up of university management. He emphasized that the plan aims to raise readiness levels and provide all necessary security and safety requirements, ensuring an organized start to the academic year.
Facilitating Movement
Al-Thamir stated that the administration is working to strengthen the security and safety system and enhance coordination and readiness, contributing to the organization of movement for students and university staff within the campus. This includes activating the new student ID cards. He added that the administration places special emphasis on awareness, by intensifying messages and guidelines related to security and safety procedures, and introducing various services, routes, and facilities. This helps students navigate the university environment more easily and safely.
He stressed the importance of instilling the concept of shared responsibility in maintaining the security and safety of the university community, emphasizing that achieving a secure university environment requires the cooperation of all students and staff, as well as adherence to preventive instructions and guidelines.
Interactive Content
Al-Thamir revealed that the administration has prepared a comprehensive digital content strategy across social media platforms, running from July to September 2026. The goal is to develop awareness messages and enhance their reach to various segments of the university community. He explained that the strategy adopts a modern and interactive approach to presenting information, helping to transform awareness of security and safety procedures into daily practices for students and staff.
Specialized Messages
He outlined that the strategy is based on four main pillars. The first is the "Did You Know?" pillar, which presents security facts and practical guidelines in a simplified and accessible manner, helping to enhance knowledge of preventive procedures.
The "Aman" (Safety) pillar focuses on digital safety, raising awareness about the risks of cyber fraud and methods for protecting privacy and personal accounts, keeping pace with rapid developments in the field of digital security.
The "Bo Masar" (My Path) pillar serves as an interactive guide for safe navigation within the campus, introducing students and staff to transportation services, routes, and facilities. This contributes to facilitating their experience within Sabah Al-Salem University City and enhancing their safety while moving around.
