Kuwait and Pakistan: Defense and Military Cooperation

Kuwait and Pakistan have signed a Joint Defense and Military Cooperation Agreement. The pact was signed on Kuwait’s side by Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali and on Pakistan’s side by Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, in the presence of Chief of General Staff of the Army Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Sharhan and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nasser Al-Mutairi.

During his official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Kuwaiti Defense Minister met with his Pakistani counterpart in the capital, Islamabad, where he was accorded an official military welcome ceremony. The meeting reviewed Kuwait-Pakistan relations, explored prospects for close cooperation in the military and defense sectors, and discussed recent regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest, as well as efforts undertaken to address them in a manner that supports regional security and stability.

In a statement, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense said that the signing of this agreement marks an important milestone in the trajectory of military and defense cooperation between the two countries, as it provides a supportive framework for enhancing operational coordination, exchanging expertise, and raising the readiness and integration levels of the armed forces, thereby serving shared interests and contributing to regional security and stability.
