Al Wasl and Al Ahli: An Emirati Clash

The theme of seizing top spot will be prominent in the Al Wasl derby against their guests, Al Ahli, today in the strongest match of the third round of the UAE Pro League. Both Al Wasl and Al Ahli started the season strongly, securing two consecutive wins, with Al Wasl holding a slight edge at the summit, one goal ahead of Al Ahli.

Al Ain, the defending champions and currently third with six points, hope to continue their perfect run, having reached their twelfth consecutive league win and their 35th match without defeat.

However, to achieve their ambitions, Al Ain must overcome the hurdle of hosting Al Nasr tomorrow. Al Nasr is the only team that has not lost to Al Ain this season, having drawn 2-2 in the first leg and 1-1 in the return, and currently holds four points from a win and a draw.
