Kuwait Youth Team Faces South Korea in Quarter-Finals

The youth handball team is set to face a tough match against their South Korean counterparts at 2:00 PM today in the quarter-finals of the 11th edition of the Asian Youth Handball Championship, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, until August 31. Also in the quarter-finals today, Uzbekistan will play Iran at 4:00 PM, Bahrain will face Saudi Arabia at 6:00 PM, and Qatar will take on Jordan at 8:00 PM.

The Blue Team secured a well-deserved 30-28 victory over Saudi Arabia in their final group-stage match on the previous day, finishing third in Group B behind first-place Qatar and second-place Iran. Saudi Arabia finished fourth, while Syria placed last and were eliminated from the tournament.

In Group A, Bahrain topped the standings, followed by South Korea in second, Uzbekistan in third, and Jordan in fourth. India, finishing fifth, were eliminated from the competition.

The Blue Team players delivered a solid performance in a match characterized by strength and competitiveness between both sides. They managed to impose their superiority during key periods of the game, maintaining their lead and securing the win by a two-goal margin, despite persistent efforts by the Saudi team to close the gap.

The youth handball squad began the tournament with a convincing 29-19 win over Syria, before suffering defeats to Qatar (19-30) and Iran (18-21). They concluded their group-stage campaign with a victory over Saudi Arabia.
