Interior Ministry: Resident and Kuwaiti national arrested for selling forged government stamps

The Ministry of Interior announced that the Criminal Security Affairs Sector, represented by the Arab and International Criminal Police Department (Interpol), apprehended an Arab national resident working as a security guard at a government hospital and a female citizen employed at the same hospital, catching them in the act of selling and using forged government stamps and misappropriating fees due to the state. In a press statement, the Ministry said: “Investigative and inquiry efforts led to the arrest of the first suspect, during which a number of forged government stamps were found in his possession. Further interrogation revealed the identity of the second suspect, who was subsequently arrested, and similar stamps were found in her possession. It was also documented that she completed a transaction using a forged government stamp in exchange for a monetary amount.” The Ministry of Interior clarified that the female suspect admitted to exploiting the nature of her job to gain financially by processing transactions using forged government stamps, retaining the original stamps, and reusing them in other transactions, as well as removing previously used stamps from archived transactions and reusing them. It added that the suspects and the seized items have been referred to the competent authority to take the necessary legal action against them.
