Review of 270 Laws as Part of the Legislative Development Plan

Justice Minister and Advisor Nasser Al-Sumait announced that the National Plan for Developing the Legislative System aims to review 40% of the currently enforced laws. He noted that, so far, 270 laws have been reviewed as part of a plan designed to facilitate procedures for individuals and institutions, reconsider the criminal justice system, support the economy, and update social laws. Regarding the Kuwaitization of the judiciary, the Minister of Justice stated that the second batch of candidates for the position of deputy public prosecutor will take their exams on September 12 next year, while the third round of admissions will open on November 1 next year for graduates of the 2025–2026 academic year. He emphasized that this initiative will continue annually until the Kuwaitization of this crucial sector is fully completed.
