Foreign Minister: Developing and Enhancing the Strategic Partnership with Beijing

Deputy President of the People’s Republic of China Han Zheng received Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber on the occasion of his official visit to the Chinese capital, Beijing. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah; His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah; and His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, to President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, Premier of the State Council Li Qiang, and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, along with their best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the Chinese government and people.
The statement noted that the meeting reviewed the long-standing historical bilateral relations between the two countries and their peoples, and discussed ways to develop and strengthen the existing strategic partnership across various fields in a manner that serves the common interests of both nations. It also addressed the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.
During his official visit to Beijing, Minister Al-Jaber met with Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the meeting reviewed the close historical relations between the two friendly countries and ways to develop and deepen their strategic partnership. It emphasized that the current year marks a significant milestone in Kuwait-China relations, coinciding with the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The statement added that both sides stressed their commitment to enhancing Kuwait-China cooperation across various fields and intensifying coordination and consultation at different levels, thereby contributing to elevating bilateral relations to more advanced levels and achieving the common interests of both countries. It further noted that the meeting discussed recent regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, foremost among them developments in the region and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability.
Minister Al-Jaber visited the Chinese Academy of International Studies (CAIS) on Monday during his official visit to Beijing. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Al-Jaber held a dialogue session with the Academy’s President, Ambassador Chen Bo, and a number of Chinese experts and researchers, during which he reviewed the historical Kuwait-China relations, the pillars of Kuwait’s foreign policy, and current developments in the region.
