The Management of Protection Centers under the Supreme Council for Family Affairs held discussions with the Community Police Management on ways to enhance joint cooperation and develop security and social coordination mechanisms, thereby contributing to the protection of cases of domestic violence and childhood, ensuring their safety, and accelerating response and intervention when necessary. This came during an expanded coordination meeting convened by the Management of Protection Centers with the Community Police Management, attended by the Director of Community Police Management, his deputy, and several senior officials of the administration, alongside the Director of the Management of Protection Centers, the Head of the Reception and Follow-up Department, and several researchers within the administration.
The meeting discussed a number of proposals aimed at providing a safe environment for targeted cases, foremost among them providing emergency security accompaniment for special cases, and assigning a liaison officer from the Community Police to ensure direct and immediate coordination with Protection Centers, thereby guaranteeing rapid security intervention when necessary. The meeting also addressed the importance of security presence in shelters to raise safety levels and enhance the speed of handling reports and emergency cases, alongside exploring mechanisms to facilitate legal procedures through the adoption of a joint operational framework that defines each party’s tasks and ensures role complementarity.
Participants emphasized the importance of institutionalizing cooperation between the two sides and continuously developing its operational mechanisms, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the protection system and ensuring swift handling of cases. They stressed that the integration between the security role of the Community Police and the preventive and social role of Protection Centers constitutes a fundamental pillar for strengthening family stability and protecting the most vulnerable groups.
This cooperation comes in implementation of directives from the supreme leadership and instructions from the Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, Social Development, Family, and Childhood, and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, Dr. Amthal Hadi Al-Huwail, aimed at strengthening the family and child protection system and developing services provided to beneficiary groups.
