Al-Huwail: Immediate privatization of "Supply Branches"

Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Amtal Al-Huwaila affirmed the immediate Kuwaitization of the position of Head of the Supply Branch, the empowerment of national cadres, and their capacity-building. This came during a meeting between Al-Huwaila and Mariam Al-Awad, President of the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies, in which they discussed a number of financial, administrative, and regulatory files pertaining to the Union and the cooperative societies. Al-Huwaila stated that she discussed the staffing structure and organizational framework of the cooperative societies, as well as employment contracts, and proposed solutions for unratified contracts. She added that they also addressed the issue of dual employment in more than one cooperative society by implementing automated linking among all societies, thereby enhancing oversight and preventing duplication. She stressed the need to continue developing the cooperative work system, strengthening governance and oversight, and addressing administrative and financial observations, in order to ensure improved efficiency across various cooperative societies. She also highlighted her emphasis during the meeting on the importance of implementing a biometric attendance system for all employees, to enhance workplace discipline and boost performance efficiency within the cooperative work system.
