Florida elections: Republican candidate calls for striking Gaza with a 'nuclear' weapon
Miami – Agencies: Florida held primary elections yesterday for the U.S. House District 6 seat. Two candidates emerged from the Republican Party: businessman Daniel Belzarian, who is running on a platform calling for an end to what he describes as “Jewish dominance” over the country, and incumbent Representative Randy Fine, who has called for striking Gaza with a nuclear weapon and expelling Muslims from the United States. These primaries represent one of the rare instances in which a right-wing Republican candidate is openly attacking Jews, demanding an end to Israel’s influence on U.S. politics, and being accused by members of both the Republican and Democratic parties of “antisemitism,” while another Republican candidate is labeled “anti-Muslim racist.” Estimates suggest Fine is likely to win in this district, which typically votes Republican. For his part, Randy Fine is among the most vocal members of the U.S. Congress in launching hate campaigns against Muslims. In May 2025, he called for “striking the Gaza Strip with nuclear weapons,” describing the Palestinian issue as “absolute evil” and stating that “the only way to end the conflict is through unconditional surrender by those who support Islamic terrorism.”
