Al-Jalahma discusses developing sports cooperation pathways with Bahrain

State Minister for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, met with Bahrain’s Minister of Youth Affairs, Rawan Tawfiq, in Manama yesterday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral youth cooperation between the two fraternal countries across various fields, and to exchange experiences and expertise, thereby leveraging the successful initiatives and programs of both sides. The meeting took place as part of Minister Al-Jalahma’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, reflecting the shared commitment to strengthening fraternal relations and developing cooperation pathways in the youth and sports sectors.
Minister Al-Jalahma expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, emphasizing the deep fraternal ties binding the two countries and their peoples, and reaffirming Kuwait’s dedication to enhancing cooperation with Bahrain in the youth field. For her part, the Bahraini Minister of Youth Affairs highlighted the deep historical and fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait, noting the strong support and patronage they receive from Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his brother, His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. She pointed out that youth cooperation serves as a renewed bridge to strengthen these relations and as a platform for building partnerships that harness youth potential and open broader horizons for their experimentation and achievements.
Additionally, Minister Al-Jalahma held discussions with Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, on several matters of mutual interest and ways to enhance sports cooperation, aiming to serve the aspirations of both countries and further consolidate fraternal bonds. This meeting was also part of Minister Al-Jalahma’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the meeting, the Minister expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to Sheikh Isa Al Khalifa for the warm welcome, reiterating his pride in the close fraternal relations linking Kuwait and Bahrain. He praised the achievements and development witnessed by Bahraini sports, wishing the Kingdom continued progress, success, and prosperity in all fields.
In turn, Sheikh Isa welcomed Minister Al-Jalahma and conveyed greetings from Sheikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. He commended the deep, historical, and entrenched fraternal relations between Bahrain and Kuwait, noting their development and growth across various sectors, including youth and sports.
Minister Al-Jalahma also met with Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain General Sports Authority, to discuss ways to develop the sports sector in both countries, including the exchange of experiences in technical, administrative, and organizational fields. During the meeting, Minister Al-Jalahma expressed his aspiration to expand partnership frameworks and exchange expertise between the two countries, supporting the trajectory of sports development and realizing shared aspirations. He praised the fraternal relations between the two nations and their continuous cooperation in various fields, particularly in youth and sports.
Dr. Askar, for his part, conveyed Sheikh Khaled bin Hamad’s greetings to the Kuwaiti Minister, expressing the latter’s welcome for Minister Al-Jalahma and the accompanying delegation in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He emphasized Sheikh Khaled bin Hamad’s pride in the deep, historical, and entrenched fraternal relations between Bahrain and Kuwait, as well as his commitment to enhancing sports cooperation and broadening the horizons for exchanging expertise. He also praised the distinguished history of Kuwaiti sports, its unique legacy, and its prominent position regionally and Arab-wide, highlighting the sports professionals it has produced who have contributed to enriching the shared sports journey.
The two sides discussed ways to develop sports cadres and implement joint initiatives, reaffirming their commitment to continuing coordination to translate proposed areas of cooperation into practical programs that yield mutual benefits.
