Aman Inspects New Zealand's Emergency and Disaster Management Experience

The team responsible for establishing the National Center for Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management, “Aman,” met with New Zealand’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), where it met with Minister of Civil Defence and Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery, Mark Mitchell, and the Agency’s Chief Executive, Dave Gowan, to learn about New Zealand’s experience in emergency and disaster management. In a press statement, Aman said that during its visit to New Zealand, the team learned about national monitoring and coordination mechanisms, early warning systems, risk assessment methodologies, disaster scenario planning, and measures to enhance readiness and response levels. It added that both sides discussed ways to exchange and leverage New Zealand’s expertise to support efforts to establish an integrated national system for emergency, crisis, and disaster management in Kuwait. It is worth noting that the Aman team, under the Council of Ministers, is tasked with establishing a comprehensive national system for emergency and disaster management, unifying national efforts, and building an integrated framework for risk management to improve readiness and response to crises.
