Rome signs Molina
Italian club AS Roma completed the signing of Argentine right-back Nahuel Molina from Spanish side Atlético Madrid on Monday. The 28-year-old, who won the 2022 World Cup, will wear the number 20 jersey for the Rome-based club, which returns to the UEFA Champions League this season. According to various media reports, the deal was valued at approximately 17 million euros ($19.6 million). The squad finished second in last month’s World Cup, having come on as a substitute in the final that Argentina lost to Spain. Molina also won titles in the Copa América in 2021 and 2024, and made 249 appearances, scoring 19 goals across various European competitions during his spells with Italian side Udinese and Atlético Madrid, as stated by Roma. Molina could make his debut for the Italian club in Roma’s season opener against Fiorentina on August 24.
