Jeddah – KUNA: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed that the signing of the “Mecca Agreement for Joint Defense” underscores the deep fraternal and strategic relations among the three countries. Prince Faisal bin Farhan added via his official X account that the signing of the agreement by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif marks an important milestone in the trajectory of defense cooperation among the three nations and represents the culmination of their shared desire to unify efforts to confront challenges and threats affecting the security and stability of the region. He clarified that the agreement embodies the common political will of the three countries to safeguard security and stability and to support a more secure regional environment, thereby serving the interests of their countries and peoples, positively impacting the broader region, and paving the way for a secure future that enhances opportunities for development and prosperity. For his part, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman stated that the Mecca Agreement establishes a framework for a long-term defense partnership. He explained via his official X account that the agreement “enhances deterrence, coordination, and integration among our brotherly countries and contributes to supporting the security and stability of the region and the world.”
