Filming begins for "Arab Street" in preparation for the 2027 Ramadan season

Filming has begun on the new Kuwaiti series “Shari’ al-Arab,” in preparation for the 2027 Ramadan drama race. The suspenseful social drama brings together a star-studded cast of Kuwaiti and Gulf actors, under the direction of Munir Al-Zoubi, with writing by Bahraini writer and media personality Susan Darwish, and production by Kuwaiti producer and lawyer Adel Al-Yahya.

The 30-episode series blends social drama with suspense and mystery. Its plot is triggered by a mysterious incident involving one of the main characters, which causes her to lose her memory. Stranded far from her homeland and family, she embarks on a journey to uncover her past and piece together the truth behind what happened, amidst a series of secrets, conflicts, and surprises.

“Shari’ al-Arab” addresses several human and social issues related to identity, belonging, family, and human relationships, alongside themes of love, betrayal, and forgiveness. The narrative relies on escalating events and the gradual revelation of truths.

The series stars veteran actor Abdulrahman Al-Aqil, alongside Fahd Al-Banna, Maram Al-Balushi, Mohammed Al-Banna, Fatima Al-Tabakh, Hamd Ashkanani, Badr Al-Shaibi, Haneen Hamed, Hassan Abdul, Nasser Abbas, Faisal Fared, Nour Mahmoud, Noura Al-Saigh, and Asayil Mohammed, along with a group of other artists and young faces.

The series marks director Munir Al-Zoubi’s return to Kuwaiti drama after a period of working on Saudi productions. “Shari’ al-Arab” also represents the first dramatic writing experience for Susan Darwish, as the creators aim to deliver a distinct experience that combines human depth with excitement and suspense.

Filming is scheduled to continue in the coming period, paving the way for the completion of its artistic stages and preparation for its broadcast as part of the 2027 Ramadan drama lineup.
