Al-Arabi Trio Joins Al-Azraq Al-Shabab

Al-Arabi Club trio Ayed Majed, Zain al-Abidin Ma’arifi, and Omar Al-Azmi joined the youth national team training camp under Croatian coach Virdo Milin at the late Abdulrahman Al-Baker stadium, headquarters of the Football Association, in preparation for the Asian Youth Championship qualifiers. The three players left Al-Arabi’s training camp in Turkey before the Green squad departed today for Kolkata, India, to face East Bengal on Wednesday in a single-leg knockout match, with the winner advancing directly to the group stage of the AFC Champions League Two.

The “Youth Blues” will continue their training as part of the second phase of their preparation program ahead of the Group 7 qualifiers, hosted by Cambodia from August 31 to September 6. The national team is scheduled to play two friendly matches against Jordan, tomorrow and on Tuesday, following the arrival of the Jordanian delegation yesterday.

The first phase of the preparation program included a training camp in the Netherlands, where the team played three friendly matches, securing a 1-0 victory over Dutch club Dordrecht. The team will conclude their preparations with a camp in Thailand from August 14 to 28, during which they will play two friendlies against the UAE and Iraq on August 19 and 24, respectively.

The “Youth Blues” will compete in Group 7 alongside Japan, Yemen, and Cambodia, which will host the group matches from August 31 to September 6.
