Washington – Agencies: U.S. President Donald Trump hailed the victory of Abdul El-Sayed in securing the Democratic Party’s nomination for the U.S. Senate race in Michigan as good news for Republicans, while simultaneously launching sharp criticism of the state’s electoral process, particularly in the Detroit area. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated that Abdul El-Sayed’s “anti-Jewish and anti-Israel” win in the Democratic primary was “good news for Republicans,” noting that opinion polls had been “far from the expectations.” He added that the Democrats’ “crazy” policies would only worsen.

In a previous post, the U.S. president criticized the electoral process in Wayne County (Detroit), Michigan, calling it “one of the most corrupt voting areas in the United States, if not in the world, resembling a third-world country.” He further claimed, “Miracles happen in Wayne County, where the number of votes cast far exceeds the number of registered voters... Prepare for another rigged election.” Trump urged Michigan voters to support Republican candidate Mike Rogers in the upcoming November elections.

In response to Trump’s attacks, El-Sayed told CNN that he was “trying to focus on aspects of my name and religious beliefs in an attempt to stir up Islamophobia, which none of us want.” El-Sayed added, “I’m glad he thinks I’m a nice guy; many people do,” before continuing, “He says there’s no tax on tips. The man can’t focus. That’s the only thing he’s done to offer any economic support, but instead, he’s focusing on me.” He concluded, “So ultimately, I’m calling on the president to focus on what I’m saying. I want to take money out of politics and put it in your pockets. I want to establish universal healthcare. I believe many Michigan residents want that now.”
