"The University": Consolidating a Culture of Excellence and Innovation in Education

Kuwait University, in its capacity as the coordinating body for the Khalifa Award for Education in Kuwait, announced the launch of the 20th edition of the award for the 2026–2027 academic year, and the opening of the nomination submission period from participating countries across various award categories, during the period from July 14 to December 31, 2026.

Dr. Layla Al-Azmi, Associate Professor at the College of Education and the award’s coordinator in Kuwait, stated in a press statement that the university is committed to continuing its cooperation and coordination with the award’s General Secretariat, thereby strengthening institutional partnerships to support excellence and innovation in education. This effort aligns with the university’s strategic pillar aimed at enhancing its distinguished presence at both regional and international levels.

Dr. Al-Azmi explained that the university is working to raise awareness of the award’s categories and fields, and to encourage individuals and educational institutions to nominate their achievements and initiatives. This contributes to highlighting outstanding national experiences, facilitating the exchange of expertise, and consolidating a culture of excellence and innovation within the education sector.

She noted that the 20th edition comprises ten fields and 18 categories at the local, Arab, and international levels. She highlighted the introduction of a new category, “Innovation and Artificial Intelligence in Education,” within the field of Innovative Educational Projects and Programs, aimed at honoring initiatives that leverage innovation and artificial intelligence technologies to enhance the quality of education and achieve sustainable educational impact.
