Armed man arrested at Trump-owned golf course in California

Los Angeles – Agencies: A man armed with a weapon was detained at a golf course owned by Donald Trump in California, two days before a scheduled visit by the U.S. president to the site, according to a statement issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The man aroused suspicion because he “was seen walking around the golf course, taking photos and videos, and appeared to be monitoring activities related to security planning,” the statement said. The arrest took place on Sunday afternoon at the golf course located in Rancho Palos Verdes, near Los Angeles. Trump was heading there to attend a fundraising dinner organized by the Republican National Committee. The suspect, identified as Jeanine John Taylor, was found with “a 16-round magazine containing ammunition” in his pants pocket. During a search of the 38-year-old man’s vehicle, sheriff’s deputies also seized “a loaded handgun” and another ammunition magazine containing rounds, according to the statement.
