Saudi Arabia: All of Israel's unilateral measures are "invalid"
Riyadh – Agencies: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan stressed that all unilateral Israeli measures in Palestinian territories are null and void. He considered the protection of Jerusalem a fundamental pillar of any peace, and at the same time strongly condemned Israeli violations in Gaza. Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs, Ayman Safadi, on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting to Support Jerusalem and Its Holy Sites, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman. During the meeting, the bilateral relations between the two countries and their peoples and ways to enhance them were reviewed, in addition to discussing regional developments, particularly the situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and the efforts made regarding them.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation escalated its aggression against the occupied West Bank early yesterday, breaching the Qalandia refugee camp north of occupied Jerusalem, bringing in significant military reinforcements, amid a heavy deployment of its machinery and soldiers in various neighborhoods of the camp, alongside raiding homes and subjecting Palestinian residents to field interrogations. The escalation coincided with the occupation imposing strict measures on the movement of Palestinian residents, banning their freedom of movement, while occupation bulldozers carried out several demolition operations in the city of Bethlehem in the southern West Bank, amid raids and arrests, and settlers continuing their attacks on Palestinians in scattered areas.
According to the Jerusalem Governorate, Israeli occupation forces deployed new military reinforcements to the Qalandia camp, loaded with boxes, equipment, and maps, and continued their deployment inside the camp since the early hours of dawn, as part of a wide military operation accompanied by home and facility raids, the breach of the Popular Committee headquarters, and the distribution of leaflets containing threatening messages to residents, alongside sending text messages from Israeli numbers to several Palestinians indicating the start of a military operation inside the camp.
Meanwhile, the Jerusalem Governorate confirmed that occupation forces forced a family to evacuate their home and banned movement in the streets of the neighboring town of Kafr Aqab adjacent to the camp, and also prevented Fajr prayers in all mosques of the Qalandia camp. In parallel, occupation forces beat journalist Mohammad Samarin while he was covering the events on the ground, and arrested Gassan Al-Khatib, a member of the organizational body of Fatah in the camp, and the father of martyr Layth Al-Shouani. Additionally, an occupation vehicle ran over a young man near the camp, causing him bruises and injuries.
