Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir in Saudi Arabia.. Today

Islamabad – Agencies: Pakistani sources told Al Arabiya yesterday that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir will visit Saudi Arabia today. This comes as diplomatic efforts continue to contain tensions between the United States and Iran, amid divergent statements regarding the existence and nature of communications between the two sides. While US President Donald Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed that “ongoing” negotiations with Tehran could lead to a “near-term” agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and dismantle Iran’s nuclear program, Iran denied holding any talks with the United States, clarifying that it is negotiating exclusively with the Sultanate of Oman to establish a mechanism for a safe passage corridor in the Strait of Hormuz.
