Fuzayyah “Private”.. Nearly $200 Million for “Emergency”

The national mobilization led by the private sector to contribute to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund continues, with banks and companies making significant contributions that have reached nearly $200 million so far in a record time. Contributions from banks and the private sector are increasing daily, reflecting the private sector’s conviction in the importance of responding to the nation’s call and meeting the challenges of crises and emergencies. The initiative aims to support the state’s efforts in responding to crises and exceptional circumstances, enhance the capacity of national institutions to recover and rebuild, rehabilitate damaged facilities and sites, ensure the continuity of vital services and infrastructure, and strengthen national readiness to face future challenges.

The operational framework of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund includes a systematic mechanism for mobilizing financial resources and directing them toward priority projects, reviewing and evaluating funding requests, prioritizing based on national needs and approved projects, monitoring implementation in coordination with relevant authorities, ensuring efficient use of resources, and achieving the desired developmental impact.

Among the contributions recently announced for the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund are: the Kuwait Finance House, which pledged $13 million; the International Bank of Kuwait, which contributed $3 million; and KEPCO Group, which contributed $5 million. Additional contributions have been made by Warba Bank, Boubyan Bank, Gulf Bank, Zain, Commercial Real Estate Company, Al-Sayer Group, and many others.
