Iranian Javad Ghaffari leads operations targeting Kuwait from Basra

Western diplomatic sources revealed that Iraqi officials are aware that groups run by Iranian Revolutionary Guard advisors led by Javad Ghafari targeted Kuwait from the Basra region, while other groups targeted the United Arab Emirates from the desert area between Samawah and Najaf—the same area used to launch attacks on Saudi facilities. In statements published by Asharq Al-Awsat, it was noted that the attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region were launched from areas confined between the provinces of Salahuddin, Kirkuk, and Diyala, and were overseen by Iranian advisor Eghbal Pour. The sources assessed that the primary objective of these attacks is to sabotage relations with neighboring countries, particularly the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, and that pursuing a policy opposed to Iran’s will come at a steep price. The sources pointed out that GCC Secretary-General Jassem Al-Budaiwi, during his visit to Baghdad, delivered a message from GCC leaders to Iraqi authorities, affirming that GCC member states possess images and documents proving that attacks on GCC countries originated from within Iraqi territory. Al-Budaiwi urged Iraqi authorities to act swiftly to halt these attacks, noting that GCC states reserve their natural right to self-defense if these attacks do not cease. It was also reported that Iraqi agencies possess reliable information indicating that drones are being assembled in the Jurf Al-Sakhr or Jurf Al-Nadaf areas in eastern Baghdad.
