Pentagon Signs Largest Patriot Deal Ever

Washington (Agencies): The U.S. Department of Defense, the Pentagon, announced that the U.S. Army has signed a contract with Lockheed Martin worth $58.62 billion for the production of Patriot interceptor missiles. This record-breaking contract comes amid dwindling U.S. weapon stocks due to ongoing conflicts around the world. The United States has supplied large quantities of arms to its allies, while its military operations in Iran have consumed ammunition, raising concerns about stocks of key air defense weapons and precision-guided munitions. The U.S. Army clarified that this contract converts a previous one-year, $4.7 billion agreement signed in April into a seven-year framework covering a multi-year procurement plan for interceptor missiles from fiscal year 2026 through 2032.
