Sultanate of Oman: A Global Gateway for Peace and Harmony
The Earth is suffering from wars, hunger, disease, and the spread of epidemics, food shortages, and population growth. There is no peace or dignity on our planet, and we live in constant anxiety. International peace and security, the protection of human rights, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence among nations and peoples have become mere words on paper, or tools in the hands of major powers.
However, the Sultanate of Oman, a country of peace, security, credibility, and transparency, has launched two monumental projects that can resolve these issues with ease: the “Sultan Qaboos Project for Human Commonality” and the “Muscat Plan,” which was launched at the United Nations. These are global initiatives aimed at enhancing peaceful coexistence among peoples, achieving security and stability, and building a new global peace based on a wise vision that ensures the planet’s stability, growth, and creativity, while securing food and medicine, preserving peace, preventing conflicts and wars, and fostering awareness and harmony based on the principle that all peoples and nations deserve to live according to all religions and sects, grounded in tolerance, civilized communication, and acceptance of the other within a diverse, safe, and stable world.
This project encompasses efforts to promote human values that ensure the improvement of human life, achieve sustainable development, protect human rights, provide humanitarian aid, and adhere to international law. It carries multiple profound meanings for a safe planet, where no child witnesses a corpse, is deprived of food and safe shelter, is abandoned from school, loses their parents, or lacks even basic clothing to cover their body. It opposes lives defined by war, theft, looting, and other atrocities. The Human Commonality initiative combats and corrects all these issues, promoting the concept of shared living, economic and social interaction. Political crises and wars are caused by humans, who must return to the Book of God and the scriptures of other religions that advocate for values, ethics, and peaceful coexistence.
The Human Commonality aggregates many qualities and solutions to the crises that have turned the Earth into endless conflicts, far removed from human values, international law, and rational dialogue. These qualities rely on justice, ethics, equality in living and dignity, and promote a culture of peace and understanding. This noble message ultimately calls for peace and stability to prevail across all segments of the planet. It is an Omani message worthy of adoption and building upon, carrying many values and elevating the concept of coexistence among all nations without infringing on geography or history, and fostering relations with various countries based on shared interests. We are not in a jungle; we are human beings, and we need to coordinate our positions as peoples and nations so that humanity can live in security, stability, peace of mind, and reassurance.
Thus, the Human Commonality is a declaration of peace and a call for global coexistence, a protection of human rights and dignity, and a safeguarding of international law principles. The ongoing wars raging here and there will cease, and we will create a conducive environment for harmony and security. The plan launched by the Sultanate of Oman at the United Nations on June 11, 2026, is a natural extension of a firmly established Omani approach to building peace, enhancing dialogue, and promoting peaceful coexistence. It represents a single language for political, social, and economic values, establishing wisdom over conflict and dialogue over confrontation, while achieving sustainable development in all countries and moving toward industry and food security, halting the crises that have deprived peoples of their trust in international organizations and some current governments.
Therefore, the world today needs to adopt the “Muscat Plan” to rebuild trust and enhance the culture of international cooperation and peace. The plan is based on humanity before politics and war. The Omani experience has proven over decades that quiet diplomacy is capable of creating significant influence, and that nations are measured not only by their military strength and territorial expansion, but by their ability to spread stability and contribute to resolving crises. The Sultanate of Oman has consistently pursued peaceful solutions and conflict resolution through dialogue and quiet means, following its firmly established approach of building bridges, bringing perspectives closer, and prioritizing the language of understanding over the logic of escalation. Omanis have been advocates of peace since ancient times and bearers of the banner of tolerance and peace since the Omani Empire, and they continue in the new era to reject violence and extinguish fires, in accordance with the Divine verse: “O you who have believed, enter into peace completely.”
Omani external diplomacy adopts the vision of the principle of dialogue and the value of tolerance. The “Human Commonality” and the new project carrying the “Muscat Plan” at the United Nations are additions aimed at protecting communities from genocide and hate speech before they turn into violence. The world urgently needs to build preventive tools that address the roots of violence before it reaches the point of explosion. And God is behind the intention.
