Katz: Iranians are firing at the entire region except Israel

Occupied Jerusalem – Agencies: Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz confirmed that Tel Aviv wishes to launch an attack on Iran, but the United States is preventing it. In statements to Israel’s Channel 14, he said, “We really want to attack Iran, but the United States does not agree.” He added that the United States has interests in Iran that “exceed Israel’s interests,” according to his wording, but went on to comment on what Iran has suffered, stating, “The arrogant empire that threatened to destroy Israel has collapsed.”

Katz said yesterday that US warplanes took off from Israeli bases during their strikes on Iran, reiterating that his country is prepared to respond if it is targeted. Israel did not participate in the latest round of escalation in the war that began in late February, which saw a wave of US-Israeli strikes on Iran.

Katz said, “The reality is that at present—and this could change within an hour—the Iranians are firing at everything in the region except one country: Israel.” He added, “They know that US planes take off from here to carry out the strikes.”

Katz continued, “This does not mean that we know what will happen tomorrow; it means that we know what our response will be. I have announced that, the Prime Minister has announced that, and we have made the matter clear: if Israel comes under fire, we will respond with full force.”
