The Judiciary: 100% Kuwaiti

Justice Minister Nasser Al-Samait announced yesterday the completion of the second phase of the plan to replace and empower Kuwaiti cadres within the judicial authority, in implementation of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s directives on the necessity of Kuwaitizing the judiciary and strengthening reliance on national expertise. Al-Samait stated that the second phase of the plan saw the issuance of ministerial decisions concluding the secondment of 82 members of the judicial authority, raising the Kuwaitization rate to 87% of the total number of judicial authority members as of September 30 next year, as part of the phased implementation of the replacement plan according to the approved timeline. He emphasized that only two phases remain to fully complete the judiciary Kuwaitization plan, achieving a Kuwaitization rate of 100% by October 1, 2030, in line with the political leadership’s directives, reinforcing reliance on national expertise, and continuing the development of the judicial sector.
