Prime Minister: Achievements of Kuwait's heroes are a source of pride and honor
Under the patronage and attendance of His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs and Sports hosted the National Ceremony Honoring National Team Champions, both male and female, for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 sports seasons, at the Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center yesterday. His Highness the Prime Minister honored the outstanding players and athletes from various sports bodies, committees, federations, and clubs.
In a press statement following the ceremony, His Highness emphasized that the achievements of national team champions serve as a source of pride and honor, reflecting the spirit of determination and resolve demonstrated by Kuwaiti youth, and the exceptional efforts they make to represent their country and raise its name and flag at various international sporting arenas. He noted that this recognition acknowledges the significant efforts exerted by athletes, as well as technical and administrative staff, which have yielded results and accomplishments that have elevated Kuwait’s standing in regional and international sports. His Highness affirmed that the government places great importance on Kuwaiti sports and is committed to providing a supportive environment that enables athletes to continue excelling and achieving further success. He added that investing in young national talents is a fundamental pillar for building a promising future for sports in Kuwait, expressing his pride and honor in the achievements of Kuwaitis who have secured these prestigious positions.
For his part, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma stated that the patronage and attendance of His Highness the Prime Minister at the National Ceremony Honoring National Team Champions for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 seasons exemplifies the political leadership’s interest in youth and athletes, and its commitment to supporting those who achieve success. This was stated in a speech delivered by Minister Al-Jalahma during the ceremony, which honored 771 athletes from 39 sports entities and was hosted by the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center yesterday, organized by the Public Authority for Youth and Sports.
Minister Al-Jalahma said that this recognition represents a message of appreciation and pride for every athlete who has exerted effort and achieved honorable accomplishments for the nation. He emphasized that investing in national sports talent is one of the key pillars for developing the sports sector and promoting a culture of excellence and achievement. He affirmed that the Public Authority for Youth and Sports is continuing its cooperation with relevant authorities to provide an appropriate environment for creating champions and developing the sports system according to a comprehensive vision based on supporting talents and enhancing institutional performance, thereby contributing to achieving further successes and raising the flag of the State of Kuwait in various sporting competitions.
Minister Al-Jalahma highly appreciated the patronage and attendance of His Highness the Prime Minister at the ceremony, describing it as a major motivation for athletes and confirming the status enjoyed by the sports sector in the national development process.
For his part, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, Bishr Abdullah, in a similar speech, stated that the ceremony reflects the state’s interest in recognizing sports achievers and its commitment to consolidating a culture of excellence and celebrating those who have raised Kuwait’s name at various arenas. He said that the Authority continues to support athletes across all categories and provide an appropriate environment that enables them to achieve further success. He added that the Authority is working to enhance the spirit of competition among athletes, contributing to raising performance levels and reaching podium finishes in all regional and international competitions. He pointed out that the achievements of Kuwaiti athletes reflect the promising talents and abilities possessed by the State of Kuwait, which deserve support and care, expressing his confidence in the ability of Kuwaiti champions to continue their successes and raise the nation’s flag in various competitions.
