Israel prepares for a broad attack on Iran's infrastructure

Occupied Jerusalem – Agencies: The Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv revealed that the Israeli military has completed preparations for plans to launch a broad attack on Iranian infrastructure. According to the newspaper, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu currently prefers not to engage in the renewed escalation between Iran and the United States. The newspaper quoted an Israeli security source as saying that the military “has finalized its offensive plans against Iran in anticipation of a resumption of a large-scale war or in the event that Tehran launches an attack on Israel,” adding that Israel “would achieve what it failed to accomplish in previous rounds if the political leadership decides to move forward.” The source also pointed to the continued presence of thousands of American troops and a significant air force presence in Israel, noting that this deployment constitutes an influential factor in any potential escalation scenario. According to Ma’ariv, the list of potential targets includes vital facilities in Iran’s oil and gas sectors, including Kharg Island, as well as power generation plants, industrial facilities, and transportation networks, as part of efforts to inflict further damage on the Iranian economy.
