Repeated Iranian Hostile Approach

The Ministry of Defense announced that the Armed Forces detected, in the early hours of Thursday, three ballistic missiles, one cruise missile, and ten hostile drones within Kuwaiti airspace, which were successfully intercepted and neutralized. The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, stated in a press briefing that material damage occurred due to debris falling in several locations across the country, and that one person was injured. The injured individual is receiving necessary medical care and is in stable condition. He added that the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team under the Army Engineering Corps responded to several reports concerning remnants from the interception operations. He affirmed that the Armed Forces continue to carry out their duties and responsibilities with efficiency and competence, maintaining constant readiness and preparedness to enhance national security and safeguard the safety of citizens and residents.

For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s condemnation and strongest rejection of the ongoing, despicable Iranian attacks targeting the country’s territory, including the latest strike in the early hours of Thursday. These attacks reflect a recurring hostile pattern, constituting a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, a direct threat to its security and stability, and a grave breach of international law, the UN Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817. The Ministry emphasized in a statement that these overt attacks represent a serious escalation that could exacerbate tensions in the region, threaten regional peace and security, and undermine diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving issues through peaceful means. The Ministry stressed that Kuwait’s security and sovereignty constitute a red line, reiterating that Kuwait reserves all its rights to take necessary measures to protect its security and uphold its sovereignty in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.
