Spanish Prime Minister after US midterm elections: Far-right wave is "collapsing"

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said that “the far-right wave is collapsing,” following the Democrats’ landslide victory in the U.S. midterm elections, just weeks before Spain’s early legislative elections on November 29.

Writing on the X platform, Sánchez stated, “The American people voted yesterday against policies that only lead to increased poverty. They voted against hatred, misogyny, climate change denial, and elite privileges. This has already happened in Brazil, has just happened in the United States, and will soon happen in Spain.” He added that “the far-right wave that Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Maricarmen Abascal (leaders of the right and far-right in Spain) are betting on to continue is no longer advancing; it is collapsing.”
