Zain received an award from the Kuwait Olympic Committee for its recent role as the official partner of the State of Kuwait’s delegation at the 20th Asian Games “Aichi-Nagoya 2026” in Japan. The recognition honored Zain’s support for Kuwaiti athletes and its backing of them at one of the largest sporting events on the Asian continent, during a ceremony held by the Committee to celebrate the national delegation’s distinguished achievements, which included winning nine medals and raising the Kuwaiti flag high on the podiums.
The ceremony was held at the Kuwait Olympic Committee headquarters, attended by Vice Chairman Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Faisal Al-Duwais, Head of Community Partnerships and Youth Empowerment at Zain Kuwait, who accepted the award on behalf of Zain. The event was also attended by several officials, sports figures, and honored athletes.
This recognition underscores the strategic partnership between Zain and the Kuwait Olympic Committee, reflecting the company’s commitment to standing behind Kuwaiti athletes at regional and international events and supporting their aspirations to represent their country in the best possible light at major competitions. This commitment stems from Zain’s belief in the vital role played by private sector institutions in supporting national sports and contributing to the development of new generations of champions.
Zain expressed its pride in the exceptional achievements of Kuwaiti male and female athletes during the Games, which saw the participation of 120 athletes from the national delegation across 16 different sports. Kuwaiti athletes successfully won nine medals, comprising four gold, one silver, and four bronze, adding a new chapter to Kuwait’s sporting achievements on the Asian stage.
Zain praised the determination, resolve, and high competitive spirit displayed by Kuwaiti athletes throughout the Games, emphasizing that these achievements reflect the wealth of talent and potential within Kuwaiti sports. It also commended the significant efforts made by the Kuwait Olympic Committee, sports federations, and technical and administrative staff in preparing and supporting athletes to reach the podiums.
Last September, Zain announced the continuation of its extended strategic partnership with the Kuwait Olympic Committee, becoming the official partner of the national delegation for three major international tournaments. The partnership launched under the slogan “Zain with the Blue,” with Zain sharing moments of excitement and pride with athletes and administrative delegations at Kuwait International Airport before their departure to Japan, expressing its pride in standing behind Kuwaiti athletes as they carried the aspirations of the entire nation to the Asian stage.
This partnership extends beyond the Asian Games in Japan to include support for Kuwaiti participation in the 4th Summer Youth Olympic Games “Dakar 2026” in Senegal, the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games “Riyadh 2026” in Saudi Arabia, as well as several other international sporting events. This continues the collaborative journey between the two parties, which previously included support for Kuwait’s delegation at the 19th Asian Games “Hangzhou 2023” in China.
Zain continues to reinforce its role as an active partner in Kuwait’s sports sector through extended partnerships and initiatives that place youth and national talents at the core of its social priorities. It strives to provide more opportunities for athletes to develop their skills and achieve their aspirations, believing that sports are not merely competitions for titles, but spaces to inspire future generations and instill values of ambition, perseverance, teamwork, and national belonging.
This initiative embodies Zain’s commitment to its corporate mission of “Constant Connectivity – A Better Life,” by building lasting ties with society and its institutions, empowering national talent, and contributing to showcasing Kuwaiti talents on both regional and international stages, ensuring that Zain always stands by Kuwaiti champions on their journey toward further achievements and successes.
