Bank of Kuwait and the Arab Countries (BKFC) participated in the welcome week events for students at both the American University in Kuwait (AUK) and the Australian University in Kuwait (AU), coinciding with the start of the new academic year. This participation reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting Kuwaiti youth and the education sector, as well as strengthening its engagement with university students.
The welcome week events at both universities witnessed significant student interaction, with Bank of Kuwait and the Arab Countries representatives keen on welcoming students and engaging them in various activities. These included offering free coffee from Caribou Coffee and checking on their well-being in collaboration with Kuwait Hospital, through conducting health screenings and providing health guidance. These activities aimed to create a distinctive welcoming atmosphere for students and encourage them to start the new academic year with a positive spirit, good health, and wellness.
During the events, Bank of Kuwait and the Arab Countries representatives directly interacted with students to introduce them to innovative banking and digital solutions tailored to their needs. Foremost among these is the Youth Account, specifically designed to keep pace with their lifestyle. It offers a flexible and easy banking experience that helps them manage their daily expenses, enhances their financial awareness at an early stage, supports their financial independence, and aligns with their future aspirations.
On this occasion, Ms. Hessa Hussein Al-Najjada, Senior Manager – Media Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Bank of Kuwait and the Arab Countries, stated: “Our participation in the welcome week events reflects our commitment to being close to students and interacting with them directly at the beginning of the academic year. We also take pride in our long-standing partnerships with the American University in Kuwait and the Australian University in Kuwait, which underscore Bank of Kuwait and the Arab Countries’ continuous interest in the education sector and its efforts to strengthen its relationship with the youth segment.
“At the same time, the collaboration uniting Bank of Kuwait and the Arab Countries, the American University in Kuwait, and Kuwait Hospital exemplifies true integration among institutions operating under the umbrella of Kuwait Projects Company Holding (KIPCO). This partnership leverages their expertise and capabilities across various fields to serve students and society.”
Ms. Al-Najjada added: “We believe that engaging with youth and listening to their aspirations is an integral part of our approach in designing initiatives and products that align with their expectations. Through the Youth Account and our ongoing support for the ‘Let’s Be Aware’ campaign, we strive to provide our young customers with banking solutions that meet their needs, while simultaneously enhancing their financial awareness from an early age.
“This initiative is part of the bank’s comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility program and its commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, aligning with the objectives of Kuwait Vision 2035 to invest in the youth generation and support sustainable development.”
As part of its back-to-school related activities, Bank of Kuwait and the Arab Countries organized a family event at SKY ZONE in The Avenues Mall, bringing together families before the start of the new academic year. The event featured an entertaining atmosphere with interactive activities, competitions, and cash prizes. The bank also launched the “BKFC Rewards” campaign for the back-to-school season, which allowed eligible customers to earn five times the reward points when using their eligible credit cards to purchase school supplies, clothing, and electronics at participating stores.
Bank of Kuwait and the Arab Countries will continue to support youth and the education sector through its partnerships with academic institutions and its diverse programs in education, skills development, and financial awareness. This reflects its role as an active partner in supporting younger generations and contributing to the development of their capabilities, under its slogan “You Are Our Motivation.”
