The Arab League strongly condemned on Friday the attacks launched by the Houthi militia targeting King Fahd International Airport and the Shaybah oil field in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in casualties, injuries, and material damage to the targeted facilities.
In a statement, the Arab League affirmed its firm rejection of the continued Houthi attacks on Saudi territory, considering them a violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a direct threat to its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
It stressed that the repeated targeting of airports, oil facilities, and civilian infrastructure constitutes a highly dangerous escalation that threatens the safety of civil aviation and energy security, and undermines regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and reaching a political settlement to the Yemeni crisis.
The Arab League reiterated its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for the measures taken to protect its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, affirming that the Kingdom’s security is an integral part of Arab national security.
It called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in halting these attacks and preventing their recurrence, while expressing its sincere condolences to the victims’ families and its best wishes for the swift recovery of the injured.
