The KIB delegation was led by Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Raed Jawad Bu-Khamseen. The delegation included KIB Board of Directors members Marouq Khaled Al-Marzouq and Abdulrazzaq Salah Al-Mutawa; Ahmed Bader Al-Farsi, Board Member of KIB Invest; Maab Al-Qasim, General Manager of International Banking and Financial Institutions; Mohammed Al-Duwailah, General Manager of Treasury; and Fahad Al-Sarhan, Chief Executive Officer of the Vice Chairman and CEO’s Office.
On the sidelines of the meetings, the KIB delegation participated in several events organized by the Kuwait Banks Union, including the Gulf-Asia Economic Forum, held in Bangkok under the theme “Digital Banking, Investment, and Infrastructure.” The forum was supported by the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in the Kingdom of Thailand and partnered with the Asian Bankers’ Union, The Business Year, and the Kuwait Business Council in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The forum brought together government officials, central bank governors, and leaders of banking, investment, and technology institutions from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Asia. Its discussions focused on enhancing banking cooperation and cross-border investment, developing digital infrastructure for financial services, and exploring artificial intelligence applications in the financial sector.
This year’s meeting agenda addressed several key issues related to the global economy and financial markets, including financial stability, artificial intelligence, the future of financial infrastructure, cross-border payments, cybersecurity, and sovereign risks. KIB’s participation enabled the delegation to follow the latest developments in the banking industry, exchange views with policymakers and financial institution leaders, and explore areas of cooperation in financing, investment, digital transformation, and risk management.
Additionally, Kuwait International Bank (KIB) participated in a reception hosted by the Kuwait Banks Union for Kuwaiti banks at the Capella Bangkok hotel, attended by officials and leaders from the banking and investment sectors, as well as participating delegations. The event provided an opportunity for direct networking with representatives of participating financial institutions and exchanging perspectives on potential areas of cooperation and partnerships.
The meetings concluded with the issuance of final documents by the International Monetary and Financial Committee and the Development Committee, which presented the outcomes of their discussions on global economic and financial market developments and development issues.
KIB’s participation in these meetings follows its consistent presence at local and international banking and economic forums, reflecting its commitment to keeping pace with transformations in the financial industry and strengthening its relationships with major global financial institutions, thereby supporting cooperation opportunities and enhancing its contribution to serving the banking sector and the national economy.
