Kuwait’s Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, Social Development, and Family Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, announced on Monday the approval of the “Women’s Platform” project, submitted by Microsoft, by the Women’s Affairs Committee, with the aim of supporting women’s empowerment and enhancing their active participation in development.
In a press statement following her chairing of the committee’s fourth meeting, Al-Huwail said the meeting reviewed the latest updates on the World Bank’s “Women, Business and the Law” index, alongside discussing several key agenda items.
She added that the meeting reviewed the work of the Platform and Initiatives Team and the Legislation and Indicators Team, and followed up on progress made regarding recommendations and decisions issued by the committee’s third meeting.
Al-Huwail emphasized the committee’s commitment to intensifying efforts and coordinating the work of all relevant stakeholders to ensure the implementation of initiatives that contribute to elevating the status of Kuwaiti women and achieving national goals.
