Public Works Minister Dr. Noura Al-Mushaan inspected the Sabah Al-Nasser Bridge project today, Wednesday, to assess the readiness of final works ahead of the official opening of several roads and circular interchanges to traffic, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Mushaan said that the phase scheduled for opening includes the service road parallel to the Sixth Ring Road in the direction of Masila, and the southwestern circular interchange for traffic coming from Road (604) toward Kabd and leading to the Sixth Ring Road in the direction of Masila. She added that the southeastern circular interchange for traffic coming from the Sixth Ring Road in the direction of Masila and leading to Road (604) toward the Sabah Al-Nasser area will also be opened.
She emphasized that the opening of the new lanes comes as a continuation of the project’s operational phases, within the efforts of the Ministry of Public Works to complete vital projects, enhance the efficiency of the road network, and improve traffic flow.
She noted that the ministry continues field monitoring of projects until their completion and entry into service, ensuring the readiness of works and compliance with technical specifications and safety requirements before opening them to road users.
She highlighted the importance of continued coordination between the ministry’s teams and relevant authorities to ensure traffic safety and maximize the benefits of the new lanes.
She urged road users to comply with signage and traffic instructions during the opening period and to follow the General Directorate of Traffic for updates on any diversions or temporary closures in the project’s vicinity. The opening of the new lanes completes the previously commissioned sections of the Sabah Al-Nasser Bridge project launched last August, as part of the project’s completion phases and efforts to improve traffic connectivity on the Sixth Ring Road and roads leading to surrounding residential areas.
