Reaffirming its role in enhancing financial literacy among youth and solidifying its commitment to corporate social responsibility and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, and in line with its slogan “You Are Our Motivation,” Bank Al-Bilad announced the conclusion of several workshops on financial and banking literacy for female students of the “Academy X” program. The workshops were held for the second consecutive year at the American University in Kuwait (AUK) headquarters, as part of the bank’s strategic partnership with CODED Academy, and in continuation of its support for the national banking awareness campaign “Let’s Be Aware,” launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait in collaboration with the Kuwait Banks Association and supported by local banks.

Ms. Hessa Hussein Al-Najjada, Senior Manager of Media Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Bank Al-Bilad, stated: “We are pleased to organize these workshops for the second consecutive year in collaboration with CODED Academy and the American University in Kuwait. This reflects Bank Al-Bilad’s dedication to building sustainable partnerships with educational institutions. More than 1,000 female students benefited from the information provided, contributing to the preparation of a generation equipped with financial knowledge and digital skills that enable them to confidently navigate the rapid changes in the economic and financial environment. We believe that investing in youth awareness today is an investment in the future of society and the national economy. These workshops are part of Bank Al-Bilad’s comprehensive corporate social responsibility program and its commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards.”

Al-Najjada added: “Financial literacy is no longer limited to understanding banking products and services; it has become an essential life skill that young people need in a world increasingly reliant on digital solutions. From this perspective, Bank Al-Bilad continues to leverage its community partnerships to deliver interactive programs that enhance financial awareness and disseminate messages from the ‘Let’s Be Aware’ campaign through practical approaches that resonate with young people’s interests. This helps them protect their data and savings and utilize digital banking services with the highest levels of security and confidence.”

This initiative falls under Bank Al-Bilad’s strategy aimed at enhancing the impact of its community programs through investment in education and awareness, linking financial concepts with practical applications needed by young people in their daily lives. The bank strives to design interactive initiatives that address the needs of different age groups, contributing to the development of financial planning skills, raising awareness of responsibilities associated with using digital financial services, and reinforcing a culture of making informed financial decisions.

The interactive workshops focused on providing female students with the fundamentals of financial and banking literacy, starting from concepts of income, expenditure, and savings management, to understanding digital banking services and how to use them safely and responsibly. They also included an introduction to the pillars of the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign, clarifying customer rights and obligations, complaint submission mechanisms, and the importance of making conscious financial decisions at various life stages.

The workshops also addressed the main challenges that users of digital banking services may face, such as financial fraud, phishing, and identity theft. They reviewed preventive measures and best practices that help protect personal and banking data, enhancing participants’ ability to use digital banking channels with confidence and security, in alignment with the objectives of the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign in reinforcing a culture of protection and financial awareness.

The workshops also highlighted the importance of acquiring sound financial habits from school stages, through preparing personal budgets, prioritizing financial needs, regular saving, and responsible spending, thereby helping students manage their financial resources efficiently when transitioning to university life and the job market, and strengthening the culture of financial independence and decision-making based on planning.

Bank Burkan continues to develop its programs and awareness initiatives to keep pace with the rapid developments in the financial sector and the needs of various segments of society, with a focus on empowering youth with the knowledge and skills that enable them to use banking services safely and responsibly. This is achieved through its partnerships with educational and community institutions, and by leveraging its digital platforms to disseminate financial concepts, protect customers, and raise awareness of their rights, supporting government efforts to keep pace with digital transformation and aligning with the objectives of Kuwait Vision 2035, which aims to build a knowledge- and innovation-based economy and prepare qualified national cadres to contribute to sustainable development.
